This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Vertexes not movable

Hi, everyone!

Yesterday, I started the "Fantasy Female" Tutorial. While modeling the head, I suddenly couldn't change the NURBS anymore. I couldn't move anything. Maya ran fine, I could change views, rotate around, but the object itself was "frozen", even though I could select it.

I closed the file, reopened it and suddenly, everything was normal for about 15 minutes than it happened again.

This time, I saved the file and reopened it. Everything was fine again, but all my "can I change this?"-tries were now in my model and the vertices moved across the whole model. So, this object is shot to hell. Has anyone had this problem in the past?

I'm using: Maya 2009 Unlimited
Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Core 2 Quad, 2,4GHz
3GB DDR2-800 Ram
2 x 500GB RAID-1 drives (4 drives in total (2x2))
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX AC3 KO

I don't have any stability problems in other programs (tested Photoshop) or games (tested Bioshock, Fallout 3, Warhammer online).

Thanks for your help!

Bernhard
