Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

subd to poly problem

hi all
after i have converted a poly to subd with no problem, i created hard edges using the subd full crease command.
it looks fine until i convert from subd back to polys - the edges become very soft. i've tried all the diff methods of tesselation, and different settings, but i cannot get the conversion to produce hard edges - am i doing something wrong, any help with this one greatly appreciated

thanks, tony

You can harden the edges:
