Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Mental Ray Batch Render Issues

Hello SimplyMaya,

This is my first post here... I hope you can help me user added image

So I'm having trouble rendering a 130 frame batch render in metal ray, in Maya 2014. When I hit 'batch render' nothing in the scene renders except the image background. I have no idea how to fix this and I would really appreciate advice.

my system specs are as follows:
Intel Core i7 processor
32 Gb RAM
1 GB Quadro GPU
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

thanksuser added image

Could you post a part of the scene or email me a link to the upload? It's better than guessing.

Do you have "light with default lighting" ticked? You will need to turn that off when using mental ray. Also what kind of lights do you have setup in the scene?
