Particle help

Hey folks,

Got a quick question. I dont care how or which one I use.. as long as it works.

How do I turn a particle into a "shell casing"

I am animating a toon shooting a gun and I need a few shell casing to eject from the gun. What would be the best way of going about this? Tried looking at nParticles, but.... I cannot figure out how to change the particle into a shell..

How is this done? anyone?

Than s

Create an emitter, set it up to shoot in the right direction
Allow it to shoot out some particles
Select your shell casing geometry
Shift select the particles
Particles > Instancer (Replacement)

Change options as necessary.
Hope that works for you.

Edit: For more info, such as aiming, look in help manual "instancing geometry to particles"

a bit of a side note, you can also have the shell casings emit Smoke from them as well to add a bit of realism with the emit from particle command.
Ahh dynamics, a beautiful thing.
