Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

garage scene

like mtmckinley suggested i'm modeling a garage scene for my car model. I'm not really satisfied yet, but i would like to know what you guys think of it so far. For the textures i first painted the surfaces with the 3dpaint tool and then imported the result in Photoshop. After making the new texture i applied them to new shaders. It works pretty well but ofcourse the textures still stretch. I would l like to know if there is something similar like planarmapping for nurbs. Thanx in advance!!

Very good modeling !

Here are my humble suggestions:

1.

The roof poles textures looks like smeared - change the projection and adjust it.

2.

Floor looks like a rusty metal and not as a concrete/asphalt - change texture and use a fractal map for the diffuse.

3.

Wall is too clean add dirt, fungus and some old paper signs that were posted on the wall - years ago.

4.

I am not american but I once modeled a typical-50's-old-american gas pump and they used to have the round sign on them and not hanging from the ceiling.

5.
the fence in the background should also be form something like a brick wall or some identifiable stuff.

6.
Where are the lights/lamps ?

7.
The small paving on which the pumps are - is not textured yet (?)

8.
Add some sort of a canal for gathering the superflouos petrol that was spilled on the floor.

9.
the entrance for the garage is actually blocked by the pumps

10.
the gat e has no railing

11.
Door has no handlw

12.
Bench is too high - should be 42-45 Cm ( 18 Inches ?)

13.
Add some sort of 3D feeling to the colorfull sign (above the door)

thanx, all you're suggestions make sense. I see you are from Haifa. i've been to ïsreal twice and i can say it's one of the most beautiful countries i have ever seen. Do you maybe have pictures of the old gasstaion you once modeled?

thanx again

I modeled a Gas Pump - not station - check it out in my maya page (link under my name)

I don't think Israel is a beautiful country - architecture here is lousy ! and landscape is too dull for my taste

But , as you know - Your neighbour's property is always better...
