Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

MAya WHY do you hate me??

Dudes ive just finished modellin and texturing this character im creating and i thought i would go back a tweak the model before rigging it for animation, but..
i wont to convert to sub divs, every time i do wont to do this is sez nomanfold cleanup so i do that and usually it works fine but....
this time when i do it, it deletes my whole model which means i cant do much:headbang:
what are nomanifold does anyone have any idea? they fustrate me soooo much, + what do i need to do to make my geometry stay?
Cheers

Well, sometimes cleanup is evil lol :bandit:

I usually go through these problems with CDPO display.
Custom polygonal display, border edges and face normals displayed.

Then with some xray, i start gathering infos on double vertices round border edges (xray to be sure about selections). If problem persists, i look at the normals.
Then if there's no more double vertices nor any false normal. Then there's a non manifold from which I often get rid deleting the two adjacent polys. Directly appending them back.

Also, before beginning this clean up, select ALL vertices of your mesh, then delete. I think i do this naturally every 5 minutes lol.

Hope it helped user added image
