ok got most of the main framework down and such. just a few more parts to add, then i can concentrate on the transformation. and get a proper look at the robot.

yeah im testing the transform now mate. having a few problems, not so much with the tranformation more my inexperience of being able to do animation hehe, ill get there though i guess.

If I was doing something like that think i'd use constraints to help in animating it. Dunno if you've used em?

erm i think i worked it out heres the link user added image
its only simple but is on the lines of where i will be going, there will be proper arms, and some weapons too i the final. user added image

thx pal, yeah every things going ok when smoothed so its all good. i keep checking incase it all goes wrong once smoothed.

Nope ure right i missed where u was talkng bout ste, the holes in the disk, when smoothed go all ugly probs have to redo that part, and boolean a smoothed version. user added image
