This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Modeling not appearing in box.

Ok on the top left where you choose like modeling/rendering and stuff, well modeling isnt there. I have Animation/Polygons/Surfaces/Dynamics/Rendering and Cloth. Well I went to customize option and Modeling isn't there. On some tutorials I watched it shows them in modeling option and using those settings up top. I would like to know how to get this to appear because you can smooth polygons really easily.

Thanks! :attn:

maya 8 doesnt have a modeling menu

instead it splits it into the Polygons and surfaces menus....

so if you are modeling polygons, anything your looking for is in the polygons menu..

i know, however that all the menus and submenus are rearranged. so you might wanna learn the interface before doing tutorials... but that might just be me ^_^'

oh, and smooth is in Mesh>smooth lol
