Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Cheers for the crits guys, hopefully will be able to get him looking correct v.soon.

Mudbox is a awesome 3D sculpting package similar to Z brush with some great extra tools. There is a free trial over at www.mudbox3d.com which is well worth a look. It is perfect for importing models from Maya in order to add details.

Getting there slowly. Skin still needs some work + I got to add diplacement maps to the pads, make all of the buckles and make some decent hair.

Got the displacement maps working on the Joker now as well. Still got to work on the gloves in Mudbox though + I need to texture the skin.

Done some work on the gloves. All the displacement is not showing up though so will need some tweaking.

All of your boots look like they're backwards, like your models have put them on the wrong feet.
Other than that, you're doing exceedingly well.

Yeah think the boots still need a bit of work. Started playing around with Tetsuo a bit. Think the best bet will be to make a load of nurbs objects though and twist them into shape.

Cheers Arran, I simply imported the model into Mudbox and sculpted the deformations onto it. I am now making nurbs and poly objects instead since it will be much simpler to rig and maintain good results.

Finally got some free time to work on this again. Ignore the eyes since they need to be made smaller and need a lot of work. I am having trouble with the hair though. I have created it using curves and then assigning 2 different hair systems to the curves. 1 hair system for the top and another for the sides and back. The hair is going into points though and I cannot suss how to fix this so any tips would be a great help. Also does anyone know how I can soften the ends of the hairs so they have a blured look. I have played with all the setting but the results are fairly awfull so far.

Cheers,

Leon

Having discovered sub tools in z3 I have decided to try and go back to this project. I hope to create a few final renders with the characters on there bikes from scenes in the film.

1st I am going to try and create this 1 of Kaneda
