Internship

hi all
just got an internship at an advertising agency .they are starting an animation side and well i applied for internship and got it.but thing is i have never done video editing before ..........so what softwares do i need to learn other than the obvious afterEffects .the job starts in february so im guessing i have more than enough time .

I would say “Adobe premier” does a great job at video editing, and if you want something simpler and easier to use then I would suggest you to go for “pinnacles” cuz it has tons of interesting effects in it.

If you learn either premier pro or final cut pro, you're probably set to understand the other, as well as most other video editing software. If they use after effects, chances are they'll use premier with it, no?

If video editing is a big player then Avid or final cut, there pretty much identical for the basics, I used Avid to start, when I worked for apple I used final cut, tbh I found it pretty much the same other than a few parts being different.

Prem's probably 3rd in the video editing list, though I love it.

I have never seen Premier being used in production.

The field is dominated by Avid, and Final cut pro.
