Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

well they gotta get their ref from somewhere, I doubt they would make it up. I bought a P51 kit a month ago - very useful

np that it's a dash 2. The gear are the same. The major difference it the tail is a foot taller on the dash 2 and there is a subtle opening at the bottom of the cowl to dump air through the oil cooler. The dash ones had a pair of flaps between the landing gear kicker doors in the fuse for dumping oil cooler air. Thanks for tanking the time to look around Dave.

someone passed this on to me there are a couple and they should help Fahrwerk klp.avi - YouTube

Still working on this. I just have the cockpit and the landing gear to get finished. I have just been very busy.

But here is the model up to where I am so far using the p3d.in viewer.

I like th p3d site. I found and corrected a couple of geometry problems that had slipped by me.

I found a floating vert, a couple parts with inverted normals, and a couple hidden parts that were still in the main group.

The only thing I don't necessarily like is that hidden parts in the exported model become unhidden. But I have mixed emotions about that in that sometimes I forget I have them buried in the model which adds to the weight of the final scene file so I guess it's not a bad thing.

Thanks Travis.

I still have a lot of details to model. The main landing gear being the most complex, there is also the internals of the folding wings and I intend to model out at least a moderately detailed cockpit. I just have not been able to work on it for a number of reasons but it's on my todo list and I'll get around to it at some point I hope.
