So had a chance to jump on after deleting my pref's, using the uploaded FBX from CollinBishop...I am still having the same issues :'( tried using a new camera as well.

Try soften edge but play with the soften edge setting say 60 or 45, you might get away with selecting the whole object with these setting in not try a edge at a time............dave

^^Dave I used a normals script on the gun to specify the value threshold. So should be fine.
