jonkelis - to source a mel script put the script in your 'scripts' folder - the path is probably something like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\ereitz\My Documents\maya\4.5\scripts

Once you've done that open maya and look in the lower right hand corner for a little icon with 3 rectangles - the upper most of the rectangles is black. Click on that and that opens your script editor.

Go 'file>source script' which should bring you to the folder where your script is - if not navigate there and click on it. This will load the script into the editor.

I believe you highlight the script then and middlemousedrag it up to your shelf after which all you have to do is click on the mel button and it makes you a gijoe setup. If you go into the shelf editor you can find your gijoe icon as well.

I'd be more specific but I'm at work and don't have gijoe here. Good luck.

From your other thread what are you looking for ideas on?

You might think about adding some equipment for use after the machine has deployed it's drills, and if it needs the protection of spikes perhaps the tubes need covers or something. You might need a cabin for drivers, entrances for people manning it and perhaps an engine compartment etc.

Difficult to know what to suggest without some ideas from you on what it's key functions are- good place to start is what does this thing do, where does it do it, who drives it and what powers it. When looking at this sort of thing form can logically enough follow function.

Hey, jonkelis.. this is quite cool looking.. cant wait until it comes together user added image.. i will be checking back soon! ever thought of making the legs actually farther out from the main body of the character. then having it come straight up.. and then into the main structure of the body? So that its got a wide reach.. kinda like your arms would be in pushup position. one thing though.. work on that head (y).. heheh

Dude just cause you don't think you'll be able to see the detail, you don't have to take it out! Plus you could show multiple shots for the Final Render/s!
