is there anyway to export maya files in an OBJ format

yes..you have to load the objExport.mll plugin.

go to window then Settings/Preferences and at the bottom is the Plugin-Manager.

If you don't see the plugin you might have to download and install the BonusTools for Maya from the Autodesk site first.

awsome thanks alot I'll look into it if you could even send me the link possibly to where it has to be downloaded from that would be a world of help. But if not Im sure I can find it.
