Default Some tips to an already good looking piece ...

Hello, VictorMagno

Looks good, however I believe the basis of a good realism cg render is precisly making it look like itīs not a cg render.
How could you make it more realistic?
  • Lower the orange's specularity
  • Appleīs looking good, however Iīd lower it a bit in scale.
  • Some miniscratches in the apple perhaps?, make her look less "perfect".
  • Cup looks a wee bit as if it was made out of clay, refine it a bit, this applies also to the fressnel effect.
  • Maybe lower a bit the surfaceīs reflectivity -donīt remember the exact cg term-
  • Apply a DOF (depth of field) to the picture, WILL look more realistic, trust me. If you have a problem making the effect work, perhaps try to render in layers and blur a bit the background layer in Photoshop.
Hope this helps bud, looks good already, but itīll go better if you take these into account ...

By the way, I understand youīre new to the forum, and as such Iīll make this one just a note, WIP means Work In Progress, which is why you can post your advances in your images in the same thread, try not to make new ones as you progress as this will clutter the forum. Letīs keep it clean, shall we?

I still think the apple would look a little less perfect with a few scratches or small dents.

Maybe the table too? I mean its REALLY clean and no surface scratches at all? maybe a mug-sized ring of coffee on the table offset from the mug = )

Looks really good by the way, i'm just trying to think "imperfection is realism"

Looking really nice man! What ADL said is great advice, to add to that all i can say is you may want to make a different table top alltogether, and instead of making it all the way to the wall, maybe make it have rounded edges and away from the wall a bit .. just an idea.. cya.
