Please help

Is there a way to select only visible geometry?

Backface culling helps me not select polygons facing away, but I still select hidden geometry.

My issue is not selecting according to face direction but selecting according to what is visible.

Wireframe I can see back to front and want to be able to select all geometry. Shaded view, I want to be limited to select only visible geometry.

Is this possible in Maya?

hard to understand what your asking. And i think the vid that you posted is not related. It seemed to be about centering the object in the camera view

There's nothing normal about normals. In FACT i think the are abnormal.
