Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Quick Response? Maya 4:

Okay.. currently i was modeling something. I moved the part of the object away from the rest to see it more clearly, and after i did that it froze... But it didnt freeze...

I cant select faces or anything, edges, nothing. But i can stilll go into the different menus, I can move the whole object, but not any individual piece... I cant seem to get it to go away... i just needed to delete a few poly's and got into a mess

Alright.. i got it to work. I dont know how but i got what i needed dont to work. so... who cares how...

To add on last question, If anyone is familiar with lightwave, do they have a feature similar to the "Knife" in lightwave for maya?

Basically its a cut poly tool that cuts all poly's on that plane its used.... Not just the current poly...

yeah man, maya's got that too. the split poly tool, under edit polys in the modeling menu.

you have to start and finish on and edge (not the same edgeuser added image)

I think twisted meens something else,

its the Edit Polygon > Cut Faces Tool.
That cut all the faces in a line, on the view you use it in.
