Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Yeah, i think you are spot on about the arm - I have been having trouble getting the swing of the arm from the start. I am using an rk handle - I think I need some more keyframes at the extremes of the arm swing to make the change of direction smoother. And I should probably do the same with the body's vertical movement as well.

I seem to be setting too many keyframes - i guess probably from having a character set selected and also pressing S - so when i adjust the movement I am getting some funky shifts.

Actually I was kind of going for a generic walk, just as this is my first walk cycle, but I guess I should try to bring in a bit more character.

I know this is a bit much, and probably unecessary, but try to download this program called poser. Its free trial obviously, but you can look at different figures and give them walk styles and study them. It helped me tremendously in studying different walk cycles. Maybe it'll help you.

I think vlad has it right with the arms etc, they look like they are going in reverse at the minute. Keep with it as his swagger is cool user added image

Arran,

It's nice to see vacuum guy come to life! My only crit is in the timing. I'd give him a slower more ponderous walk! Otherwise, he looks really good! (And I knew "vacuum guy when!)

Cheers!

Ha ha! Thanks a lot guys. yeah - he definitely needs to be slowed down a little - at the moment he looks like he's in a bit of rush. Not quite sure i see what you mean about the arms going in reverse, t1ck, but I definitely agree that they need a lot of work.

I just started a couple of new models this weekend, so this may be pushed to the side, but I will definitely give this a tweak and post anything if it looks decent.

Thanks again for all of the comments and advice. user added image
