Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

don't worry goksimaster - it won't take you long to clean up your model.

Hey Arran, I assumed it was some sort of fan rarther than an umbrella, as i never really looked at it till you started this project.

Looking great man, the rigging and the paint of weights might be a pain, but you'll get right through it man!

Hi arran. As you can see, I'm back user added image
Great work so far. I'm really liking the way you're developing your model. It's a bit uncommon to see on 3d galleries a fat model, and you're doing good. i'm following this thread.

Hey jramauri - glad to see you back on simply maya.user added image

goksimaster - are you sure? It doesn't look like a hat to me, though I agree it's probably something he uses as a shade against the sun.

Here is another update - I finished making the rest of the body - most of his lower half won't actually be used in the final version, but i like this figure and I have an idea for a character that I might use him for, so i decided to just go ahead and finish him up.

MrTerminator - good spot - it does look a little short - i'll take a look at it.

t1ck135 - thanks mate - I see what you mean. I thought it was pretty close to the refs, but that belly and those moobs do look like they need a bit more support!
