rotate tool

hi everyone, i hava a little problem.
im new with maya and i dont know what to do.
i want to rotate a lego guy but when i do, it turs up like the picture.

anyway, i dont whant to combine all the pieces because then i can't move the arms and legs.

you can group all the parts ( select all the parts and do edit -> group I think) which should work.

at a more advaned level (well for me) you can join all the parts together and look into rigging the character for movement.

actually looks like ull want to change the rotate mode... like local or global
