Shader invisable?

Hi!
Have a problem that has me in a panic.
A model I have been modeling now does not apear in the render, all other parts do but not this part, everything has the default shader on it.
I was playing with "connect Poly shape" mel, but i deleated it after wards (the duplicates it made.
have tried duplicating object, apply a shader to it, trying all the Edit Poly>Normals>....
If I convert>Subdiv, then it shows up but its changed thenuser added image

If I do a smooth it will also show up, but thats a pain to have to continue to work with it as smoothed.

"all the other parts do but notthis part" well I was speeking about a pic of all of it. but thats cool you probably have a point. it might not be very usefull.

you talk about parts though. is it one object with difrent parts? or more than one object ?

I'm doing a boat. Hull, deck, mast etc... the hull is the only part that is doing this.

Try going to the Attribute editor->Render Stats and checking the "primary visibility" box for the hull. CPS unchecks it when you use it on the object.

u know, I'm sure that was one of the first things i checked, however it was not checked now. Rendering is still weird, tried reapliing shader but still no the same.
Render stats are all checked. So I guess cps changed things around, what about the poly faces being screwed up, I tried putting them to normal?
Thanks!

The shader is not showing up. As u see in the sample it is like a ghost.
So I figure maybe somthinf changed in the geometry of the polys ?
Thanks!

the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is those objects do not have a material applied, or the transparancy is all the way down or something.
