you might have to convert those strokes to poly's. Since Paint Effects is a post process it does not show up in reflections.

I think he's talking about mirroring it from one side to another. I'm not too sure but you could try this: group all of the strokes, and the curves and every thing, duplicate it, and in the channel box, type -value in scale axis you want to mirror.
