Render Back Ground

When you render something, blank space is made black. How do I change this with out adding my own background on a flat plane? (BTW: I want a soliud color like.. white)

Open up the attributes of the camera your rendering from, or if it one of the 4 main viewpoint go to View>Camera Attributes Editor....

When the attributes editor is opened, open the Enviroment tab and change the colour.

in the enviroment section of the camera's Attribute Editor (View>Camera Attribute Editor) set the background color attribute
