Spec map for brightness at certain points

Hi,

say you make a map, and it's to control the variations in specular brightness at different points (the surface has oily, therefore more specular, parts), should you map this to spec colour, roll off or eccentricity? I've tried them all and am still not sure which one seems more physically correct.

cheers

mainly the rolloff, the eccentricity controls how 'tight' the highlite is ie; either snooker ball type or wider like a plastic matt

the color is well..... for the color of your spec
