Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Unable to pull vertices, edges after delete history

Help!

I have been trying to fix this all afternoon and it still remain the same. I used the split polygon tool to make the lips, then I pull the edges and vertices, but with subdivision, my Maya interface gets so slow so I decided to delete history.

After that, I tried to pull the vertices and edges of what I sliced earlier, but I can't. You can see the problem attached.
What should I do?

Thanks,
JL

I would make the model just regular polys and delete the split poly lines you made, while still in poly mode, edit delete buy type history and remake the lines using split poly tool again. Pull out the shape of the mouth in poly mode, do the majority of your pulling and pushing in regular poly mode and when you want to check and modify the shapes with a bit more control than covert into sub-d to pull vertices.

I found working in poly proxy mode is a pain and for some reason causes a lot of glitches like you said slows your computer down and some times the vertices act up.

Hope that helps!!! It has happen to me before and thats how I fixed it.
