Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Strange rotations

Hey guys, I have had this problem a number of times and need some of your advice.

I am trying to make a dolly in maya and when I parent it together (in this case, the camera to the crane arm) and when I rotate it, it goes crazy and changes shape after it has been parented.

Any advice, ideas?

it's a double transform being applied. Try unparenting and freezing the transforms of the parent object before parenting. i hate it when maya pulls this crap
