well films lie.

Because in saving private ryan, some people had german beyonettes. and they were "american" forces. Films lie man. they are never accurate.

@Zyk0tiK

that they had german bayonettes doesn't say anything !
the american forces had even weapons like the stg44 or the mp40 from the germans.
but i agree that it's very unusual that british forces have some luckies ^^.

What? Maybe this British soldier got the smokes off some dead GI who lost his life in hand to hand combat because his German made bayonet was a dull piece of crap. Save the arguing about who smokes what and what bayonet ended up ruining your film expeience and give the guy some HELPFULL feedback on his model ...

SMEEZE - looks pretty damn good for your first few attempts. To get the camo-net look you could experiment with bump maps or displacement maps or maybe even transparency on a separate piece of parented geometry thats slightly larger than the helmet's surface.

and next time get some good references so you won't have to answer to the gun-geek squad when seeking advice on your model user added image

Also I would say give the rim of the helmet a bit of a rounded edge. Give some thickness/weight.
