About particle rendering

hey is there any one to tell how the particles and smoke effect can be seen in software rendering? if not possible tell me how that can be achevied in hardware rendering and how can i use that in my software rendered movie.

You cant render certain particle types using the Maya Software renderer. You will need to use the Hardware Render Buffer to render the just the particles and then use a compositing software such as Adobe After Effects to combine the software render with the hardware render.

Not good news, I know, but that's just how it is I'm afraid.

However, the Effects>Create Smoke particle type is handled by the software renderer, so if you are having problems with that let us knowuser added image
