Yes I do refer to Polygon > Smooth. And Mike is right You dont need all of this goemetry for a normal can. I kept a low res version then I created a high res version for close ups. as I am going to be right against the can when I am done. I changed the scene a little ched this out.

looking cool, 3djoe. Only thing I'd suggest is rotating the cans a bit more randomly, as at the moment, they appear to all be facing the same direction.
