This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

and here's a version with more complicated lighting looking thru the back of the NURBS mesh i built to make the texture... i might use it as an example of 3d graphic design somewhere on my website...

that only depends on how he enters the competition - as newbie or as normal. but no matter what, it will not be easy to judge this months competition in newbie and normal.

- i've been working with photoshop and flash for about 4 years, i started 3d about 8 months ago with 3ds max and then did a maya course for 3 months which ended in dec. I've been sketching etc forever user added image Since i've taken a course in maya and have been around the forum for one competition i guess this means i'll enter as a normal member...

I've got to take a day or two off to do some stuff i've been avoiding and then i'll finish off his helm and armour and build some teeth. then simple rig so he can be posed and into the keep scene. that's the planuser added image wait and see how the cloth explodes when he moves...
- Gary1953 - here's the dragon i would model if i had time - maybe a future project... i think his wings have to be a little bigger to look like he could fly tho...
