importing iges

Im importing Iges files into maya. The files come in unstiched and you can only apply materials to single surfaces. Maya will only let me use global trim which really distorts the object. Any ideas?

In my experience with *.iges, the best (and most time consuming) way is to rebuild and attach surfaces one bye one. As for the the shader, you can select all your surfaces and assign one shader.
