How to do get the camera to follow a moving object

How to do get the camera to follow a moving object? In LightWave, you connect the camera to the object and it automatically tracks where ever it moves. How do you do this in Maya so it tracks a moving object without setting keys?

Example: Panning shot with object moving in front of the camera so the object stays centered in the camera view?
