Nice looking, but the texture dosnt quite seem like an old mans skin would look, I cant quite place my finger on it...

yeah i definately agree, old people have sorta a faded slightly browner skin... dont get me wrong, it looks damned awesome, but the skin looks young.

I know, that will be fixed, currently its only to layout the basic skin colors and deviations in the skin.. it will all be turned down to a more brown/greyish look when I have painted the stuff I need to have ..

Basicly you can call it "aging the texture" user added image

ok, now we are getting somewhere!

Still a lot of work left, but this is starting to look good now..

Still need to:

- Clean up Bump map for artifacts
- Paint veins and stuff in Color map
- Paint eye area with darker color around the eye/eyelash area
- Paint Specular map
- Paint Reflection map
- Paint Translucency map
- further adjustments of color map .. like adding some green/blue to the surface, so it will look more "worn"..

hmm.. probarbly more user added image

Some specularity maps added,
Played a bit with the bump maps,
Made some Translucency maps,
Added a spotlight
Turned down GI_Joe lights due to adding the spotlight

Still need to :

- Paint spots of "dirt" or "pimples" on his face
- Paint dark red'ish color at the eye area
- Paint the green/blue areas on the color map
- Paint veins
- Paint darker Grey'ish at the beard region, to simulate the beard stubs.
- Create the water in his eyes
- paint eyebrows.

That is indeed nice!
one suggestion: turn the nose in the same red as you are going to paind the eye-areas. Actually, turn the whole thing more red.. user added image

cool user added image
if i hold my hand in front of the head, and black out the upper part, the lower part looks incredibly good. The upper part including the eyes differ some in color/wrinkle detail though.

love to see more progress user added image

Yeah, I still have to tweak the bump mapping on the top part

Also, I am gonna experiment with some new thought for creating hair, so lets see how they go.. under any circumstance, his head will be covered with hair, of some kind..
