HDRI Problem

I was just following a tutorial on a different site on HDRI renders. When I render out the scene with mental ray I get all these funky colors on the plane I have an object on from the HDR image. I just wanted a default lambert gray for that plane, but have tried everything and no luck. Here's a render showing the plane with all the funky colors: https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...y/HDRITest.jpg

Any help is much appreicated. Thanks.

what shader is applied to it? can you post a pic of your shader params so I can have a look. It looks like it might be an ambient/diffuse thing.

I don't know for sure cause Im trying MR out formyself....but maybe if you go and select the plane and hit Ctrl-A (attribute editor) and than select the 'name of the plane'-tab and under render stats you might want to checkoff the first four...

If this doesn't solve your problem...then sorry...Im still practising also user added image

Well there is basically 3 objects in the scene.

A half polygonal sphere with a lambert shader with the HDR file mapped to the color and ambience.

The balls themselves with a blinn shader with a blue color and a few tweaks to the reflectivity, eccentricity and a few other of them values.

And the floor plane which is just a lambert shader with a light gray color. All rest of that shaders settings are left at default.

Also on the half sphere I have turned off the first 4 or so options within render stats. I'll try the same with the floor plane and see if it will fix it. Thanks.

Edit: Ok I tried unchecking some of those options in render stats for the plane, but it never fixed it.

What are your Raytrace Options and Mental Ray settings for the Lambert?

You can also setup your scene using IBL in Mental Ray and just use and HDRI image in your sphere and use FG. This works really well.

See my sample image that I did in 5 minutes in the thread in the Mental Ray section titled HDRI in Maya 6.0
