This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

has a nurbs surface always got a seam ?

for example if i make a cylinder from a revolved curve , is there a way to get no seam on the resultant surface ?

nurb surfaces will always have a seam, but it doesn't necessarily have to be visible.

That would depend on your surface´s parametrization, continuity and tangents .. those are the factors governing nurbs "seams". If you control them, you can make non-seam nurbs. (but it´s quite difficult as you would think)
