I just couldn't resist entering this one user added image
hopefully ill be able to finish it in time... I'm doing Bernard from the classis Lucas arts game "day of the tentacle"
its not really from the early days of gaming (unless I am THAT old) but it is 2d.
I hope it fits with the rules.

Thanks for the feedback user added image
I managed to build the shirt and stuff and now all I am left with is Bernard himself, which to me is going to be the hardest part since I was never that good with cartoon faces.. But Ill post progress as I go

The modeling is designed quite nicely. More posts would be cool to check out.

hehe, you've definately caught the original character's look user added image

Just check the shoulder width as it looks a little wide for a geek. That or the crotch is a little high.
Are you going to give it your own swing or keep it as is?

It's simply amazing, you're doing a incredible job. Though, the main purpose of the challenge it's to make your own version of a game's character. So, I think it's better you give him some modifications. Good luck!

my problem is that I don't know how to... well change him. I guess I have a worm fuzzy feeling for him just the way he is user added image if anyone has ideas I'm open. I'm currently working on the background for the picture and the tentacle (cant forget him *G*)

Funny model you have user added image, but most of all your scene is very good user added image

I think if you put a funny weapon, or something lake that in the and will be great. If you could make it the more funny possible better will be user added image

Best Regards

Since your char has a goofy look, I think it would be funny if you made him like someone it's supposed to be serious, like a militar, or a secret agent (the classical 007 look). Or then imagine if this character starred a game which he was a super hero, like superman, with cape and underpants over the pants... I think it would be interesting, and hope these suggestions could give you some inspiration.

You can keep this modeled character. Then change some physical attributes so it will be a different model from the original game character. I think you should give him more of a torso, maybe change the glasses a bit, nose, hair, shoes, add some weight to him... simple things to alter his appearance slightly.

nice work
