how to delete shader or material that we added to object?

i can't find the way to delete a shader or material after we added it to an object? anyone know how?

and just wanna confirm, is lambert a shader?

btw, i remove the shader using Window > Rendering Editor > Hypershade ... but the box that once we added phong into it, still in green color user added image user added image

any idea?
