Hi, this is my first post here, it seems like a nice place to learn about Maya user added image

... Actually, I guess not.

And a more recent render with an attempt to ramp-shade it somehow... The area between the face and the part under the nose look extremly horrible ><
The eyes are placeholders for now, haven't really decided how I want to set up the eyes yet...

Hair is party based of Re Mii from Zoids Genesis, shortened down because the school has a regulation against long hair O.o

I'm sure some will laugh at my pathetic modelling skills, but the underarms and ass of the low poly model look really messy to me... I was wondering if I should bother fixing those parts up since it doesn't look too bad when Poly Smoothed, but I'm still a novice so...

The ass... she's kinda skinny but that's intentional, so she doesn't have much of one. Looks messy, and I can't begin to figure out how to fix it up.

I am a big fan of anime(and i know who Re Mii is) andi like what youve done... But she looks a little sadistic to me, other than that it looks okay. You might want to add something near her hands, Either holding something, or a bracelet/gloves something as anime generally has a lot of small details and right now shes pretty bland.

What's wrong with that? ^^

Depends on your animation budget... Most schoolgirls in anime don't wear that much jewelry/decoration anyway, it's against regulations. But I'll get there when I get better at modelling...

For now, here's some prototype wings in their closed, folded, and open state (to support her gun). Because little girls can wield weapons twice their size with no sweat!

So she can hold a gun but not a bracelet because it's school regulations...hmm... that quite don't add up.

Exactly... Don't blame me, I'm not really the one responsible for all the plot holes and retcons you see in fiction, so yeah...

Pretty ordinary schoolgirl ya? She doesn't wear jewelry either user added image

Trying out shading and lighting now: Lit by a single red light from below. Eyes are still placeholders (stuffed some funky fractal into them).

Ramping, Key Light is a little to the right.
Apparently the nose is still too big, and a few areas still need to be flattened (even more -_-).

Something with two cone primitives shoved into it:
Eyes and Hair based on MOMO from Xenosaga, which I was trying to model in the first place but ended up with this Gothloli wannabe somewhere down the line...
