Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

i'm still pretty new to maya but here's my opinion.

I don't think you can extrude a vertex. but you can however move a vertex and it'll mimic as though it is being extruded. Unless if you're taking about extruding a vertex so it creates a single line away from the surface, then you would porbably want to deal with curves instead.

not sure if this is any help, just thought i give it a try

No this doesnt help.
I just want to extrude vertexes.
First i used blender and you could extrude certexes with blender.
Now ima asking if somebody knows how to do it with maya.
In maya there is a extrude extrude vertex option but that ddoesnt work how i want it...

UPDATE:
I got it,
i just needed to go to the option box of ecturde vertex and then put erveything on 0.
And the sebdivision on 1.
Then extrude, and thats the way i like it :attn:
