This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

May/June - Noob - RJCanAnimator

This is my first challenge so please don't laugh. I might try to do an animation sequence as I have already done a walk cycle and it looks really bad. For my final I will probably use the ninja rig from

It looks good so far, though the feet look a little far apart. some movement in the arms will also definitely help.

Here is the final character I am going to use i got him from 3dfiggins.com

This is a link to a jump test i did in about ten minutes

Does anybody know where i could get a model that could go with this in a sequence?

I think he'd have to compress the legs more and spring out a lot faster to get the height he achieves. When he lifts off the ground you'd expect him to be moving faster.
Nice start though user added image

New movement

my movement itself has changed now because i couldnt find an appropriate model for the ninja to interact with. i might use the ninja on his own still or jjust another 2 different ones. so instead of a jump its more like a fall or explosion or something like at the end of the game a boss death or something. thanx for the feedback t1ck

heres a prototype blast with justa simple model to get a feel for the animation

Cool - I like this latest animation a lot. It's a little difficult to see at the moment, but I think you are heading in the right direction. Good work.

I like the inclusion of the table/debris at the bottom that the character hits, it gives it some cool action user added image
Can't really see what the character is doing at the beginning though - has he been hit backwards or is he falling backwards?

Si

I am working on a gun for him/her to carry and looking for a suitable model still so as not to have do do much skin weighting as i hate it!

Thanks for the possitve feedback

Ha ha - And why isn't this your final character? user added image

I like this idea a lot and I think the inclusion of the fence / debris is a great addition and really adds some life to the scene as would maybe some flying blood and guts on the final character.

I might wait just a touch longer after he fires his gun before you send him over the edge, but I really like the way you have animated the character falling. It looks pretty realistic to me at least. Well done.

yeah, this could be the latest of the stickmen fighting movies that are all over the internet user added image

you might want to consider that if he got shot then whereabouts and how would his body initially react before hitting the fence?
if it was a stomach shot then he might hunch while falling back
if it was a head shot then he might fall back faster or his legs might give way as he fell back.
Its looking good though user added image

Very nice management of dynamics.
Like the others said, Stickman is a cool character that we can see in a lot of short film. You can use it like that.
