3DS Importer Problem

Hi,

I am trying to import some 3DS models into Maya 7.

I downloaded the 3DS Importer from Autodesk(Alias) website. It is called 3dsimporter.mll which should be copied into the plug-in directory.

Everything is done. However, the "loaded" tick box in Maya's plug-in manager cannot be selected so that the plug-in cannot be enabled.

I don't know why it happens. Can any body give me some clue?

Thanks

can´t tell about the plugin, but embedded in/export format of both software I use is fbx file format (obj also sometimes for small geometries) which works pretty fine.

everything starts and ends in the right place at the right time.

I had the same problem. Download the Bonus Tools from the site and it will have the 3DS Plugin that works for maya 7.
