Niggly random problem that happens time to time

Hi guys, just been doing the Mech tutorial from a while back, now and again when im trying to shift a line of vertices to snap to center line its moving the oposite side of vertices and none of them are even selected, its acting like im scaling them from both sides...

u can see the row im snapping to center but when I hold X and use the move tool it snaps them to center but also moves the opposite side as well ? ive had this happen on 2 occasions now and even making a new line with split polygon and deleting the old edges/faces etc does not fix the issue..

Any ideas greatly appreciated, I cant remember but im sure when i last attempting maya it might of been an option selected which shouldnt of been..[IMG]
