Yeah, I'm surprised the renders look good to. I'm using some pretty low settings in MR.

About the hard lines, I wanted an intresting look for the tank. Kind of roboteckish in a way. So in that respect, your going to see some intresting stuff in this model.

I'm hoping for a update later on today.

Thanks for the comments Mike, T1ck135! user added image

Update:

Finially had a chance to update my tank. I re did the gun barrels to give them a more futureistic look. The rocket pod has been there since my last update, it's just been out of sight. I added a little bit of detail to the body.

I still have alot more work to do.

looking good thx1138 - some of the flat geometric shapes remind me a little of the tanks from Tron - which is a good thing!

any idea what kind of setting you are going to place this in?

good work mate!user added image

Thanks for the comment arran! I have 2 ideas of what kind of setting to put it into. My first idea would be a desert setting, to go along with whats going on over in the middle east. My second idea would be an urban enviroment set in the future. I'm leaning more towards the urban idea.

Here is a quick render with the tanks headlights on.

Personally I would stay away from putting your project in a setting based on real world events, like the middle east, unless you have something to say about it. That's just my opinion, though.

lol a futuristic city perhaps? Maybe your tanks is one of my Martian rebel's, looks like it could take out a powerplant pretty easily:p

Thanks for the replies guys! I believe I will go with the urban city idea. It may not be set too far in the future, but just enough to look a bit futuristic. I hope to have more progress to show in a couple of days.

Hey coming along man.

I was wondering if you were going to shade the environment with that contour look you gave the tank?

Keep up the good workuser added image

Cheers

For some reason the countour on the tank has a bit more orange on it when viewing here. Here is another shot with a better color match.

Let me know what you think.

Edit:

Here is what the composition is "supposed" to look like, exactly as I see it in photoshop.
