This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Here's another render. This time I set a new personal record, 113.5 hours....haha. I didn't happen a lot the last like 80 hours though, just tried to get rid of the noise at the wall.
Next renders I'll remove the out of camera-walls and the ceiling though to cut the render times.
Some more stuff added to this render, the guitar is the guitar from another of my wip-threads. Did some tweaking of the materials of the bowl and the table.
day render looks better, although night render shows more detail on the guitar... one thing that stikes me as odd is how the glass bowl doesn't show any warping of the texture of the table behind it... but i'm still a definite fan of this scene and anything you add to it - perhaps a fisheye render to capture everything in the room at once? hehe
I actually also noticed the lack of "warping". Maybe I screwed something up in the material, or maybe it should be that way... buy I know I set the refraction value to 1.5 something (glass)
I changed some materials and did a higher quality render to spot material errors. Some buttons got a lighter gray by mistake. I shall also add ventilation holes on the side and top, then I think I'm done.
why just a pro.logic? Cause it IS ancient...hehe. I just use it as a stereo receiver. Have never bothered with 5.1 sound. Don't think it's that big of a difference...

You gotta be kidding me
Ok, Time to bring you up to speed on the few benefits of 5.1 sound.
1. Has better highs because the center and surround channel is not matrixed from the stereo soundtrack. Thats the main problem with stereo surround.
2. Has a wider sound field because the 5 discrete sound channels gives you a wider sound field and better depth perception.
3. Has much deeper base extension with the addition of the .1 channel.
4. With the addition of HD software hitting the market; faster, better, and higher transfer rates brings you up to the level of the studio masters. Thats something that stereo surround just cant do.
Go to you nearest A/V dealership and audition a complete 5.1 or 6.1 setup.
