it should be on the left hand side in the texture editor, its quite easy to see, i think its under the mental ray tab, i did it just the other day infact

got it, i loaded up maya to find this out for you! hehe right, in the top left of the texture editor there shgould be an arrow, right click and hold down, it should be entitled, create maya nodes, options drop down, simly select create mental ray nodes instead, it should then be available once uve done this on the texture editor.

its on the drop down for materials rather than textures, sorry if i didnt make that clear :s

Nah it should have been in textures... seems you're right, you dont have it in there. Very odd. Not sure what to suggest other than checking what version you're running, and plugins - I'm guessing mayatomr.dll is already enabled but check that.

finaly got the occlusion shader after ages of pissin about and a load of googling , all i gotta do now is find a decent tutorial on occusion renders :headbang: , ive been using phongE as a "imperfection" shader if u will and i can already see a shed load of bumps im seriously considering starting again lol

time for a updte im now on the rear bumper , gonan upload smoothed and wired i still need to tweak some edges etce tce still having trouble doin the occlusion renders tho dont know why i just cant do em lol

just started working on the boot possibly the easiet of all parts i think lol im pleased with the resault altho they are some wierd point which im sure youll c in teh smooth
id like to know what you all think of its progress so far

in the boot, add some column vertically to make the other columns evenly space.d. U have it starting from the roof and then ur first column is at the end of the window, add one in between there and then after the window, u have one column and then another huge space. add one there also so the mesh looks really evenly spread
