LMAO Acid44, I know what you mean
kind of expect him to become the human torch from the fantastic four during his descent once he reaches supersonic speeds

don't know about Opera, does work fine in both Firefox & Chrome (I tested both)

Not to mention, everyone will be drinking a lot more Red Bull

LOL, they keep telling him to hydrate
like, who wants to keep drinking when you have nowhere to let it all out user added image

Yeh, I was wondering about that whole burning up on entry thing... Won't that happen to him? And (unfortunately for him), he probably has a nice cushy diaper on right now user added image

Just passed 20 KM, about 66 minutes in. I wasn't expecting the ascent rate to slow this quickly.

EDIT: Rate of ascent has doubled since I posted that... How does that work?

the rate of ascent changes at altitudes because of diminishing atmospheric pressure
at different altitudes they have to release ballast (sand bags) in order to keep rising
the final 20-30,000 feet are going to be the slowest going up .........

flame on! LMAO

26Km up... crazy stuff. Watching the yt stream. 3.75 million viewers. That's pretty impressive for a long series of shots of a metal canister. Just kidding, it's cool.

I figured that, but it slowed to a crawl so quickly, and then out of no where it doubled. Didn't think 60 pounds of ballast could do that much D:

10 Km left now, ascent speed is still up around 4 m/s. Hopefully not too much longer until the jump, or I'm just gonna pass out on my keyboard user added image

Record's broken, just a matter of surviving now

4000 Feet to jumpitude. So excited to see him explo... I mean... Set a new record.

Nevermind, float height just raised to 125,000 feet

Well they would haha.

Interesting fact: No one's ever died from dehydration whilst running a marathon but people have died from over hydration.

Considering this is a giant branding campaign in space-ad style I'm surprised they didn't prepare lots of interesting things to talk about during the ascend of the balloon, if you draw a comparison to the final space shuttle flight last summer this is boring deluxe user added image obviously companies like Red Bull & Coca-Cola still have a bit to learn from the PR team at NASA.

This whole time that he's been doing pre jump checks, I've just been waiting for a Redbull logo to come up, and the feed to cut to "To be continued"

Yeah, when the door opened and then control says, "Now remove your seatbelt, Felix." And I'm like NOPE.

There will be a press conference and they are taking 3 questions live. I have been following the tweets and my favorite was....

The question is how did he fit his gigantic balls into that tiny space suit. lol
