Problem with Motion Path

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but I'm having some issues with motion path. When I try to attach this missile along an EP curve, it seems to launch randomly off into some odd direction, and then it goes horizontally instead of along the path of the curve. How would I go about solving this issue to make the missile follow along the path?

Here are some images to help give a better understanding.

This is how it looks before I do anything

Here are the settings I have set for the path

And here is what happens after I apply the changes

Any help as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated.

I normally use CV curves for this but I dont think its that, before you attach to the motion path do you freeze transformation, delete history and centre pivet it,the rocket is not a dupicate if so you will need to unparent it.............dave
