Sometimes it can be a history build up. I had a problem where every time I tried to delete history on a smooth mesh (hotkey 3 on the keyboard) it caused Maya to stop working, had to go back to low res, delete history, then smooth res.

Dear MrYeti!What were you doing in Maya just before it crashed.
Sometimes it can be a history build up. I had a problem where every time I tried to delete history on a smooth mesh (hotkey 3 on the keyboard) it caused Maya to stop working, had to go back to low res, delete history, then smooth res.
I were modeling a mushroom before it crashed. I just hit hotkey 1-2-3-4-5 to change model.
Let me try what your suggestions. Thanks so much
