Final Gather + White Enviroment = Angry Artist

I need to render a scene with a white background, unfortunatly setting camera enviroment to white has a reaction to FG in MR and make the object really really white, does anyone know how to remedy this?

you can select the material - check its attributes (there will be 1 MENTAL RAy tab there - bump the value down and you'll be right) - I can't remember what its called but there's only one or two things to adjust under the tab. Post a render once you fixed it. user added image
