I can’t believe I haven’t seen this animated short before. It’s most excellent. The story, directed by Roy Stein, drew inspiration from the 1980s thriller and horror films by directors like Burton, Kubrick, and Fincher. Deep into the small hours of the night, drenched in black coffee and paperwork, a lonely man’s sanity starts to slip away. Too Late is an animated, psychological thriller that brings up the destructive nature of overwork.
It was made by an online collaboration between animation artists from all walks of the industry with experienced team members from the major film and gaming studios. Creative work tends to get tough as deadlines approach, so I’m sure many artists can relate to the main character’s struggle in the film.
